You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

I'm Martin! I am the most adventurous of the bunch and like to check out every little corner of the house and yard, and enjoy collecting leaves. Once I get tired out though I'm a total cuddle bug. My soft coat and curly tail make me downright irresistible!

HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract at time of adoption if puppies being adopted are too young for sterilization. This form is conformation that the adopter will indeed get the pet spayed or neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit (on top of adoption fee ) until proof is provided by a veterinarian stating the pet has been spayed/neutered. The deposit will then be returned to adopter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

G litter-Martin-ADOPTED, a Livonia Australian Shepherd/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Dachshund for sale in Livonia, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Livonia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Livonia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Livonia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Dachshund breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Livonia paves the way for another one to be saved.
