Facts about Severus

  • Breed: Domestic Mediumhair
  • Color: Orange Or Red Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Medium
Severus was a stray cat who came to his rescuer's porch asking for help. He had a severely injured paw and was emaciated. His rescuer got him emergency medical care, and then got him admitted into Tenth Life. To the surprise of the vet and all others who had seen his paw initially, Severus did not need to have it amputated as originally feared. It has fully healed, though he does occasionally limp just a little bit still.

Severus is FIV+ from his time on the streets. FIV is only transmitted to other cats through blood transfer. Fortunately, Severus gets along great with other cats and is not at all aggressive. Cats with FIV can live long, happy and healthy lives. For more information on FIV, visit http://tenthlifecats.org/all-about-cats/health-and-care/fiv.

Severus can be a little nervous in new situations and with unfamiliar people, but once he is comfortable all he wants is love and attention. This beautiful orange boy loves to sit in laps, will roll over for belly rubs, and meows to get attention when he feels he isn't getting enough. He loves to romp and play with the other cats in his foster home, so would probably do best in a forever home with other kitty companions. Is that with you?

Approx. DOB 2/24/2014

Severus is available for a discounted adoption fee, thanks to the generosity of Vicki Holmberg.

About Tenth Life Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Tenth Life is an animal welfare organization that provides another chance at life to injured and abused stray cats. Our focus is on felines with extreme medical needs or ongoing conditions that make it difficult for typical shelters to afford their care.

Stage one of our mission is getting needy cats off the streets of St. Louis and into caring Foster Homes, where they await their forever homes. Stage two´s goal is to open a shelter building that will house special-needs kitties in a cage-free, no-kill setting until they can be carefully placed in their forever homes.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters are required to complete a comprehensive application and interview, and will need to supply proper identification, as well as personal and veterinary references. Our adoption fee is $125 for kittens 6 months or younger, and $100 for any cat over six months of age. Our fee includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccines to-date of adoption, and a microchip. Once approved, all adopters are required to sign an adoption contract.
