My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luna is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), white/orange-tabby, female, 2 years of age.

Nothing subtle about Luna’s beautiful eyes – one deeply green the other intensely blue – Luna’s most notable quality isn’t her eyes at all, but rather a host of other traits, among them her terrific personality and extremely loving nature. Sweetly affectionate and highly social, Luna is a people cat who enjoys being handled. She revels in loving attention and shows her appreciation for petting and having her short, lush coat brushed with gentle purrs and head butts.

Outgoing and friendly but somewhat subtly and impishly so, Luna is neither shy, nor demanding, but rather always cheerfully content and just happy-to-be-around. She enjoys the company of and likes to play with other cats, and she’s comfortable around well-mannered dogs too.

Loving attention and having quite the curious and playful side, Luna is above all else, a sweet little Love-Bug who will never turn-down an invitation for snuggling or lap-time with her people.

We rescued Luna from Monroe County Animal Control where she had been left in the overnight box, injured with a large, infected hole in her neck and shoulder and related systemic infection. Treated for her injury and infection, as well as flea and worm infestations, Giardia, Coccidia, eye infections, ear mites, and dehydration, Luna is now a healthy, happy cat looking for that special person or family she can love and be loved by for the rest of her life.

Luna is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low to moderately-active lifestyle.

As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Luna currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. You can meet her Tuesday – Friday, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Saturday 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, or by appointment; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
