Chocolate's Story...
I was surrendered by the owner to Duplin County Animal Control. I was pulled with another rabbit and relocated to NHC Rabbit Rescue of Wilmington. I was in poor shape when I was taken out of the shelter. I had severe ear cankers, mites, fleas, mats, malnourished, anemic, and rabbit syphilis. I was treated for all of my medical issues however I am not used to much human contact so I am very shy of human hands. I need someone who has the time to work with me as I would make a great pet if given the chance. I am not house trained but I do use a litter box. I was never a house rabbit. I was kept in a breeding hutch probably for meat rabbits.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chocolate, a Wilmington Satin was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Satin for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Satin from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Satin breeders who help with Satin rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
