I'm Emma and I'm an 8-week old brown tabby kitten who came to the shelter as a stray. I was pretty shy when I first came to the shelter but I've come out of my shell quite a bit and now I'm hanging out with my pals in the kitten enclosure, awaiting my new home. I'm your typical kitten: cute, loving, and of course, PLAYFUL! I loooovvveee to romp around the kitten enclosure and play with all the fun toys and the other kittens in the enclosure. I may be small, but I can hold my own with the bigger guys, no problem. I'd be a great addition to almost any family, so if you are looking to add a new furry baby to the family, come out to the shelter and meet me today!

About Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are an animal shelter that cares for approximately 1,000 animals per year. We work with Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa, IA to provide animal control services and we also work through the Mahaska Humane Society to educate and promote responsible pet ownership as well as low cost spay/neuter services for low income pet owners.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The public can visit our adoptable pets at the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter any time during normal business hours. We are open to the public Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption application in which questions regarding responsible pet ownership are asked. Once approved the adopter is allowed to adopt and must pay an adoption fee which varies based on the age and species of the animal being adopted. At the time of adoption the adopter must sign an adoption contract. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
