There was no way Snowcone was letting us leave her behind! As we walked passed kennel cages, she looked directly toward us and and started wagging her tail and beckoning us to come and visit her. Once we met her, we of course couldn't resist her wiggles and kisses and made sure she would be coming with us! Over 500 animals were rescued from a large adoption event, yet for some reason, little Snowcone was still awaiting a family of her own that never came. How anyone could ignore such a sweet and fun little dog is beyond us, but no matter, we know we'll find a loving home that's just perfect for her!

Snowcone got her name at the adoption event when it was evident she was too tired and hot to function and just sort of melted into our arms. With her white coat, the first name that popped in our heads was Snowcone! She loves playing with other dogs and snuggling into our laps. Snowcone is a sweet and fun girl who we know will make any family happy to have her.

About New Leash On Life Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

New Leash On Life Animal Rescue Foundation was started in 1997 by a group of animal-loving individuals united by a vision -- to make overpopulation, unwanted pets, crowded shelters, and euthanasia things of the past.

In 2002, the organization moved to a 13-acre facility in the Santa Clarita Valley and established their base of operations there: a haven for many companion animals who would have otherwise been lost within the shelter system. The organization also established programs to help provide locals with better learning resources, to help enrich their education as animal owners.

Today, the Ranch is a borderline magical place, and offers a wide variety of additional services, such as: boarding, training, volunteer programs, CGC certification, and much more -- the proceeds from which go directly back into the rescue efforts, spearheaded by New Leash On Life's passionate staff and proactive volunteers.

New Leash On Life has also pioneered a unique program: the Lend A Paw (LAP) program, which offer training for both shelter and already-adopted dogs to become licensed therapy dogs for visits to hospitals, nursing homes, schools for special needs students, and veteran facilities.

Today, New Leash On Life can proudly say it has been directly responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of pets, rescuing, rehabbing and re-homing over 5,000 shelter dogs from various high-kill shelters all across Southern California, as well as making a continued determined effort to better educate the community on responsible pet ownership.

Together, in coalition with amazing organizations like Best Friends Animal Society, New Leash On Life is determined to save even more helpless lives, build a comprehensive network of allies to help all animals in need (even those not in our immediate area), and make LA (and beyond) no-kill, forever!
