Lorne, born approximately 3/21/16, is a striking Maine Coon tabby with lots of white and a shortish, kinked tail. He came into rescue with his mom and siblings at about 2 weeks of age and has been handled ever since. He is a gentle giant. He comes with longish fur, tufted ears (and tufts of long hair behind his ears), a big set of feet, and a plaintive meow – sometimes he just meows at you and you’re not quite sure why. He is sensitive. If a stranger comes over, he will initially be quite fearful – but he loves attention from people he knows and will reward you with a rumbling purr. He is smart – quickly figured out the doggy door leading out to the patio enclosure.

Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lorne, a North Highlands Domestic Mediumhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in North Highlands, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair kitten from a breeder in North Highlands.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Highlands already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Highlands breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Highlands paves the way for another one to be saved.
