PENNY is a Belgian Shepherd/ Bassett mix. She is between 1-2 years old, utd on shots, heartworm tested neg. and microchipped. She will be spayed next week and will be ready for her new home.
Penny is very sweet and has a loving, playful temperament in her foster home. She is great with all the other dogs there. She is housetrained and crate trained, though she really doesn't need to be crated.
***Penny exhibited protective behavior when a very large man visited another pup at her foster home. We believe she felt he was a threat when he crouched down, looked at her in the face and outstretched his arm. Not sure if she felt the need to protect herself, her foster mom or both. Belgian Shepherds are bred to herd and guard their flocks. They can be independent, aloof and wary of people. These are all natural behaviors for this breed. Because of this, we are searching for adopters with Belgian or German Shepherd experience, single family homes, fenced-in yards, no very young children and no long hours left alone.

Adoption fee $100 to approved home. All interested adopters must be preapproved before visiting.
