  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less

Willy (no other dogs)
5yr old Terrier Mix, weighs 6lbs

Willie is an energetic terrier mix. He wants his human all to himself. He has a sweet disposition once he gets to know you. He is fearful at first but when he feels safe he is the perfect lap dog. He is mildly indifferent to dogs but gets along well with his foster siblings. He needs to gain some weight and sometimes tries to steal food from others bowls, but is easily redirected with a quiet "no". WIlly hates kennels and a leash, but does well with a harness. He is a fast learner and appears mostly house broken. Sweet Willy needs an adult who will be gentle and patient with him. Time for him to gain confidence and feel secure. He needs someone home most of the time.

All dogs will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, heart worm tested, wormed, micro-chipped and will have had 1 month of heart worm preventative, and 1 month of flea preventative before adoption.

Adoption fee: $250

About BLUEGRASS SHIH TZU RESCUE, INC

About Our Rescue Group...

Bluegrass Shih Tzu Rescue, Inc is a 501c3 non-profit. BGSTR was founded January 1,2000 by Donna Hall-Turner, Director. We have rescued between 2000-3000 shih tzu, shih mixes and other small homeless dogs. We are a small rescue, which needs volunteers, especially foster homes. We require the foster homes to be located in KY. This is so we are close enough to help each other out, in different situations. BGSTR is always in need of donations, which are tax deductible, for the care of the rescue dog.

Our Adoption Process...

BGSTR adoption process begins with an adoption application. Three references are required. Please understand all members are volunteers. Also, please understand it may take a few days to return emails or calls. A home visit will be conducted prior to any placements. An adoption fee will be required. The fee is based on the age of the dog. The fee goes toward the vetting bills, grooming, food, and any items needed for the rescue dogs. After completing the above process and upon approval, an adoption contract will be required to sign by both the adopted parents as well as a member of BGSTR. If for any reason, the adopted dog cannot be kept in the "forever" home, the dog must be returned to BGSTR.
