Padme's Story...
Padme, what a sweetheart of a cat. We have been calling her Sweet Pea :) She is active and likes to play with balls and bat the feather toy around. She is a quiet and observant girl who does not go on the offensive with other cats, but she is just being introduced and getting adjusted to the cats in her temporary home. She is VERY affectionate with all people. She is social and approaches everyone, including the six year olds in her foster home. She likes to climb into laps and she puts her paws on either side of your neck and likes to cuddle and nuzzle you when relaxed. She also approaches our guests and is friendly with them. She knows when it is bedtime and climbs into our boys beds for stories and songs. She seems to really like kids. The adoption fee for adult cats is only $40 and includes spay/neuter, distemper and rabies vaccinations, FELV/FIV testing, deworming, and microchip. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Padme, a Des Moines Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Des Moines, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Des Moines.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Des Moines already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Des Moines breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Des Moines paves the way for another one to be saved.
