Facts about Turnup

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Turnup is a black and tan tabby with sparkling eyes, loving temperament and charm to spare. He is lively, playful and head-butts when he wants affection. He is the best companion for someone who will enjoy his fun and affectionate nature. He is wonderful on his own, when he does not feel the need to compete with the other cat(s) which he has begun doing. The aged girl cat, in particular, has become his target and she deserves peace. In turn, Turnup himself has become stressed and developed cystitis - he is now on wet food and no longer has any issues.

His human companion is reluctantly trying to find him a new home where this adorable love bug will be the sole recipient of all the attention. He greatly welcomes play but also enjoys snuggling quietly beside you! He is an indoor cat, is neutered, chipped and was vaccinated in May 2016. If you have a home where this delight will feel able to shine, please contact Claire.

Turnup is participating in our Courtesy Adoption Posting Program and is not the property of Toronto Cat Rescue. Toronto Cat Rescue does not accept responsibility for any pet placements that result from this service. If you need more info or would like to adopt please contact Claire directly: or 416 539 9310. Thank you!

About Toronto Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Toronto Cat Rescue is a registered, no-kill charity run by volunteers.

Our registered charity number: 889-198-727-RR-0001

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
