My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

NAME: Tex
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 10 Months
WEIGHT: About 6.5 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with older, mature children (13 and older)

Hi, my name is Tex and I am a Chiweenie (Chihuahua / Dachshund). My age is about 10 months and I had a rough start. Someone loved me and a few other puppies but then left us in an alley. I helped my brother protect the other puppies. We did our best to keep them safe, but unfortunately, one of the other puppies was attacked by a Bobcat. The good news is that the people at CRT rescued all of us and took my injured friend to the vet and fixed him up. He is fine now (and just found his forever home).

I am looking for my forever home. My personality is a bit shy at first and I need to warm up. If you give me some space and a few treats, I will be your best friend. When new people come over, I will bark a bit, but eventually I come around and give great kisses. The type of home that would be best is one without too much going on in the house. Perhaps a couple without children or a single person would be nice. I do love my foster brothers and sister and would like a friend to play with in my forever home.

I currently weigh about 6.5 pounds and my foster Mom says that is perfect. I hope to find a forever home soon.

This is a perfect little guy and the family that adopts him will be so lucky! Could that family be yours?

Tex is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?
