Vanessa is a front paw declawed brown striped tabby who loves to stare right into your eyes. Her favorite toys include the laser light and shoe strings and she likes to sleep on beds and chairs. Vanessa enjoys attention from adult humans, however, the person who adopts her must have experience with cats. We're not sure what happened in her previous life; as much as Vanessa wants to love and be loved, she can also be unpredictable at times. Vanessa's perfect home will be quiet and include adults who can understand and respect her needs. If you have the experience and patience, Vanessa will be your perfect companion. Vanessa was born in 2008 and wants to be your only pet.

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
