Izzy is an adorable little 2-year old mix we believe to be part hound and terrier, weighing around 40 lbs.  If there is one word to describe Izzy, it would be happy! This dog is full of life! There is no lack of personality here. Izzy is always eager to meet new people and make new friends. When she greets you after a long day of work with her full body wiggles and looks at you with those big brown eyes and goofy ears, you can't help but smile.

Not only is Izzy a fun loving dog, she is also a very intelligent girl that is extremely treat, toy, and praise motivated, making her a fun dog to train. With her drive and intelligence, the sky is the limit for Izzy. For someone looking for a dog to train fun tricks or partake in dog activities, Izzy would be great dog. She thrives in a home that provides her with plenty of mental and physical stimulation.

Some of Izzy's favorite activities include running around outside and playing fetch and she’d probably also love to romp around in a kiddy pool. Not only does Izzy like to play, she is also a top notch snuggle buddy and knows just how to chill out when it is time to just kick back and relax at home. She has also been known to sneak in a doggy kiss or two when you aren't looking. Izzy absolutely adores children and would love a family with kids to keep her active. However, we do think Izzy should go to a home with school age children and older as she can be a little exuberant and may knock the little ones over.

Izzy would do best as the only dog in her home. She is also a little too interested in cats to live with them safely. Izzy is fully house and crate trained and is past the naughty puppy stage. She has even taken a formal obedience class where she has learned all her basic manners which means she is ahead of the curve and will already be a well trained pup for when her new family brings her home.

If Izzy sounds like a good match for your home, apply to meet her today!

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process includes adoption application which can be completed at our website wagsmn.org. Current fees can also be accessed on our website. After reviewing your application, a meeting is scheduled between you and the pet in the foster’s home or a neutral dog friendly place. If there are any resident dogs in your home, it is required that the dogs meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit is scheduled and, if everything goes well with the visit, the adoption is finalized. A home visit by one of our representatives is required prior to finalizing any adoption, and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason Adoption fee includes: vet exam(s), spay/neuter, de-worming, heartworm test (if 6 months of age or older), vaccinations, microchip, and FIV/FeLv testing (for cats only). Email is the best way to get a fast response (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com).
