Are you lonely? No children or grandchildren to spoil? Looking for something to fill that empty space in your heart? Maybe Juliet is what you need! Juliet is between 2-3 years old and is a card carrying member of the Extended Stay Club. This lady has been looking for her perfect match since December of 2015. Her people search has taken longer than most because she does not get along with children and gets stressed out when people and dogs walk by her kennel so tends to make a less than perfect impression when visitors come to the shelter. Visitors seldom get to see the sweet and lovable side of Juliet because it takes her a few visits and not just a brief encounter for her to put trust in you. If you are willing and interested in visiting Juliet several times you might be lucky enough to earn her trust and affection. Juliet does well with some dogs but she would be best suited as an only dog. She has to go to a home with no children and one that if children happen to visit her new family understands that Juliet should be given a separate room or her kennel until the visit is over. Juliet is a huge fan of water and loves to swim and splash in the shallows during the hot days. When she first arrived she would get car sick but over time she has learned to enjoy car rides. If you are single or a couple with no children and are looking for a pet and willing to visit often to see if you might be the right ones, well maybe you can give a rescued gal with a jaded past a brighter future.

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt one of our cats or dogs we ask that you come to the shelter during our operating hours. We have a one page application that can be filled out in person at the shelter or downloaded from our website and brought with you.

We ask that renters bring the name and contact number for their landlord. Home owners please bring proof of home ownership such as a mortgage statement, home owners insurance, property taxes etc. You can block out the financial amounts, we just need you name in conjunction with the property.

If you have existing pets, we ask that you bring the name and number of your veterinarian. If you know the office will be closed please bring your pets' veterinary receipts to show that your current pets are up to date with routine care and vaccinations.

Please be prepared to bring your entire family to meet any potential new pet as the animals may be more or less responsive to adults, women, men, and children. We want to ensure the pet is a good fit for the entire household.

If you are planning to adopt a dog or puppy and already have a canine family member at home, they must meet prior to adoption. It is important to see that your present dog and the perspective pup get along before bringing them home.

There is an adoption for each animal which helps offset some of the cost of care given to the animal prior to adoption. All of our animals are given a health exam by a licensed veterinarian, are spayed/neutered, and have received all age-appropriate vaccinations. All cats/kittens receive FIV/FeLv testing and dogs 6 months and older receive Heartworm/Lyme/E.canis testing.

All adopted pets are micro-chipped and sent home with a small bag of food, cats are sent home with a cardboard carrier if needed. Dogs receive a collar and leash if needed.

Adoption fees are as follows:
All dogs/puppies are $350
Kittens under 12 months $150
Cats 1 year to 5 years $100
Cats 6 years and older - Adoption Fee Waived

Before making the trip to visit, we strongly recommend checking our website for more complete information on adoption policies and procedures.

Pets can be adopted quickly, and although we update the pet list on our website daily, a puppy or kitten you see on our website before you leave may be adopted by the time you arrive. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please visit or phone the shelter (978-283-6055).

Because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding.
