Senior male Pekingese seeks forever loving family where I can grow old, go for occasional car rides (in a raised doggie seat would be great!), and nap in the sun
My name is Cong and I am about 10 years old and I weigh 7.5Lbs – 8lbs. Like many older people, my eyesight is not what it used to be, but I get around fine. I can find foster mommy with no problem, and I follow her around the downstairs in case she wants to go to the kitchen and get me a treat or let me nap in her lap. I do better climbing up a short series of stairs (3-5) rather than climbing down, so if you can give me a lift down, that would be great.
I’m house trained and when I need to go outside, I’ll sit by the back door. I also go out on a regular schedule with the big dogs in my foster home (they weigh from 40lbs to 65lbs), but I do much better when it's only me and my foster mom's other small dog...since I'm so small, I think small dogs would be better. My current foster family does not have any kids, so I can’t tell you if I like them. Small kids and Peke’s aren't usually compatible.
I spend my day sleeping in the sunlight, going out on the porch with all the smells, puttering around the house, and playing with squeaky toys. For the most part, I am pretty easy going. And even though I cannot see very well, I will chase a cat if I smell or hear one. I do have some of the typical Peke traits of ignoring you when miffed and I can be stubborn. On the flip side, I am loving and always willing to hang out in your lap or next to you on the sofa. If you think you would like to meet me, please fill out an application at www.Angelsrescue.org.
