I'm Uno. For many years, I lived in a trailer with lots of other cats and not much attention from people. As a result, when I arrived at the shelter, I was fine with other cats, but was very, very shy with humans. I had to learn, from experience with staffers, volunteers and visitors, that people are good to be with. I still don't like to come out of my cage, but I come forward as soon as someone stops in front because I know I'll get a stroking. I love to be stroked--all over--and to come close to those doing the stroking (and talking). I've even started to talk to people! I wouldn't object to meeting new cats, or maybe even a dog (if we're properly introduced); but I think I'd like a quiet home with a place I could curl up by myself when I want to be alone--and with lots more stroking.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask potential adopters to fill out a matchmaker form. When they are ready to adopt an animal and the form and interview process indicates a good match, we have the adopter sign an adoption contract promising that the animal will receive good physical and emotional care. Fees vary and we often have adoption specials. Fees for senior pets are sponsored. Otherwise, dogs are $100, puppies $150 and up, cats are $75, kittens are $95.
