Hello?  Oh, hi there, my name is Arlo!  Are you looking for love and companionship?  Because I am!  I hear humans use the internet to find love all the time these days, so I’m putting myself out there and hoping my forever family sees this and comes running to get me!  I promise that if you pick me, I’ll be loyal and loving and adore you forever.  Sound good already?  Keep reading my profile and check out all my cool pictures!

If you like hounds, I am the dog for you!  I am all hound… sweet, happy, and a really good sniffer!  I am loyal and loving and I adore people!  I also like most other dogs and do best with dogs who are playful and energetic like me.  And I’m smart!  You want to hear something really smart that I did?  I convinced the people who try to train us in manners here at the Center to think that I am not that “treat motivated.”  You know what happens when people think that you aren’t motivated by little bits of kibble?  I’ll tell you, but don’t share my secret!  It turns out that if they think you don’t care too much about treats, they give you really good stuff like hot dogs when they teach you tricks.  If you have hot dogs, I am happy to learn!  And if you don’t have hot dogs, I love, love, love toys, and I’ll try to earn my playtime with them!  I am really good at playing hide-and-go-seek with toys, using my nose, too.  I am three years old, and am a Southern dog (working on becoming a Southern gentleman) who came all the way up from Kentucky to find my match up here in Pennsylvania, and I know he or she is out there waiting!  If you are still reading this, let’s ditch this whole online thing and meet in person!  I think you’ll love me, and if you do, I promise I’ll love you right back!  Oh, and one more thing - a generous donor sponsored my adoption fee.  That means I can be your forever best friend for free!
I have been living with a wonderful family who has invited me into their home as a foster dog,  A few things my foster family has learned about me is I am housetrained and I am excellent in my crate.  Once I am in there, I don't make a peep!  Although I'm very good with kids and people overall, I get scared by some loud noises so I would prefer a home without any little kids because they can sometimes be noisy and unpredictable.  I still love them, though!   I am fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.  Please e-mail the foster coordinator at to set up a meeting with me - hopefully you'll make my dreams come true!

Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal's ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information. The system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed blend for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed blend. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

To foster or adopt this dog please call Providence Animal Center at 610-566-1370 during adoption hours. You may also email Can't foster or adopt? Donate to help our homeless pets,

If you live in an apartment, we need to see a copy of your lease stating that you are allowed to have pets. If you own your home, please bring a copy of your deed, mortgage payment book or tax bill.
All family members living in the home are required to meet the animal prior to adoption approval.
If you are planning to adopt a dog and presently have a dog, both dogs must meet.
