Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dude was owner surrendered with one other cat to a kill shelter in the heat of kitten season, the worst possible time to be an adult in a kill shelter. To make matters even more humiliating for him, his previous owners (husband and wife) brought him to the shelter in a pillowcase because they had a baby and didn't want him anymore. He wasn't even allowed the dignity of a cat carrier. However, from what the shelter volunteers have shared about his previous owners, Dude is definitely better off in foster care waiting for a real forever home. He was very lucky to make it out because when the shelter is full, owner surrenders are the first to be euthanized. It is not necessary to hold them for a five-day stray-hold period because it is a known fact that they aren't wanted since they were brought in by their owners. A Furry Friends volunteer happened to be at the shelter shortly after Dude arrived and saw him rubbing on his cage door asking for attention. When she opened the door and saw just how awesome he was, he came home with her and became part of FFAR's foster/adoption program. Dude is an amazing cat and it is impossible to understand why someone wouldn't have wanted him. He is young (around two years old), super good looking and sweet, and playful. He has beautiful super soft fur and loves to be petted and brushed. There is nothing not to love about this handsome feline. If this big lug of a brown boy meets the criteria for your next forever family member, fill out an application and take a Dude home today!
