Taku is the most loving, sweet boy that you will ever meet. He is high energy, but take him for a good walk or a romp in the dog park in the morning and he will be a cuddle bug all day. He likes the chew (especially on straps) so always have something you can trade with him until he learns what is yours and what is his. At home, he loves just cuddling up and he is pretty calm and will relax with you.
He LOVES everybody. Unfortunately, not all dogs love him because he can be a little too friendly. Taku needs a bit of socialization with other dogs so that he can understand their social cues. Once he finds a dog that will play with him, he will happily play and tire himself out for you. He also likes to chase balls so you can always get him running with a game of fetch. Taku has a few socialization habits that need positive reinforcement, such as mounting during play, but overall he loves everyone and just wants to say hello!
Taku rides well in the car, but if you have his seat belt on, check on him to make sure hes not chewing it. He does pull a bit when walking, but with a little practice will be a great walker. Unfortunately, our other dog was not very patient with him and was also 40 pounds heavier, so we did not want to leave him in a potentially dangerous situation.
He is such a great dog with such positive energy. He deserves a family who can give him the proper attention and care that he needs. Taku would do amazing as an only dog with people who loves the outdoors!
If you are interested in any of the dogs, the first step is to fill out an adoption questionnaire found on our website and email it back to firstname.lastname@example.org.
