Diesel is a handsome and very sweet 2 year old lab mix. He is on the small side weighing 50 lbs. Diesel has a beautiful shiny soft black coat with a little pure white patch in the center of his chest. He came to Lucky Lab Rescue as a stray and is now in a wonderful foster home and thriving. Diesel can be a bit shy when first meeting but is very friendly within just a few minutes. He does well with everyone and especially likes his 6 and 12 year old foster kids. Diesel would be considered medium energy and likes to play. His favorite thing is playing fetch, tug-o-war and his squeaky tennis ball ! He does well with other dogs and is good with the kitties although he would chase if they ran. Diesel is house trained, crate trained, good on a leash, knows sit and lay down and working on other commands. His foster family says: 'We love Diesel. He is the perfect dog! Sweet, loving, playful, and protective.' Diesel is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. If you would like to learn more about this great boy, please go to our website, www.luckylabrescue.com, complete the online application and indicate 'Diesel' in the notes section. He is available in the Midwest and in New England.
Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit (currently filing for 501(c)(3) status) rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers in the Midwest and find loving forever homes for them.
Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from shelters here in the Midwest. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded shelters. Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.
Our Adoption Process...
Potiential adopters must fill out an application and a Lucky Lab representative will follow up with both a phone and home interview. Our adoption includes all vaccination, microchip, spay or neuter and a heartworm test. Provide additional medical treatments if needed.
Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help
get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
