La-la-la-la-Lola! Lola is a 4 lb Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. We don't know much about her history other than her owner was overwhelmed with the number of animals she had and Lola's owner had to pare down. She is a healthy girl, however she is very nervous and a known fear biter. For this reason, she will not be adopted to a home with children. Lola chooses her favorite people and will allow those people to pick her up, hold her, and pet her, but not those she determines are not one of her favorite people. You have to go slow with Lola for her to accept and love you.

Lola has the tiny dog prance and a heart shaped spot on her right side. She is fully grown. She was in a room with about dozen people and she sniffed each one. She even chose one person to cuddle her. She gets along fine with an older and much, much bigger female dog who does not boss her around. Lola is looking for just the right home. While Lola is adorable, she will have to select her next family after careful consideration.

ARF'N accepts applications from people between the ages of 21 and 65. We would consider applications from potential adopters up to age 70 for our senior pets. This will be determined on a case by case basis. Active seniors would be considered as foster parents since fostering is a temporary situation.

ARF'N primarily adopts only to residents in the counties surrounding Hernando County in central Florida or within a 60-90 min. drive from the Brooksville/Spring Hill areas. The reason for this is that we personally conduct home visits for each of our rescued pets to ensure they are getting a safe home.

The application can be found here:

Email questions to: We do not have a phone number to reach us.

Our adoption fees for dogs range between $100 and $250. All of our pets come completely vetted (spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm tested, on heart worm prevention, and a microchip).

ARF'N is a rescue operated by volunteers with full-time professional jobs during the day. We can't always get back to you immediately. Most of our rescue work happens in the evenings and on the weekends. It can typically take up to two weeks to go from application to adoption. More time is required for pets with multiple applications and during holidays. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. We find the best match between pet and adopter. Please be patient with us through this process. Rude emails will disqualify you from adopting from us.

About Animal Rescue Friends Network Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

As a rescue group, we are Animal Rescue Friends Network Inc. We primarily rescue animals from Hernando County Animal Services and other Florida shelters to save their lives and find them forever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our rescue is a foster home based rescue. Please contact us if you are interested in meeting one of our animals. We can either start the application process, or tell you the next location we will be for an adoption event. You may meet some of the animals available for adoption there before starting the application process.

Our Adoption Process...

Our fees are kept as low as possible to get animals vetted and re-homed into loving families as quickly as possible. We require an application. Once the application is approved, we perform a vet verification to make sure your pets are spayed/neutered, current on core vaccinations, and your other dogs are on heart worm preventative. We also confirm home ownership or a landlord approval. Finally, we do a home visit/meet and greet with the animal in your home. Once the home visit is approved you will be offered an adoption contract. Most of our dogs are offered for an adoption fee between $150 - $250, depending on age and breed. We have a few long-timers that will be offered for less.
