Nikki's Story...
This companion animals name is Nikki. Here is what her current care taker has to say about her, "Nikki came to me approximately 4 years ago after having knnee surgery, when she was 2 years old. Her original owner couldn't keep her and she was and is such a loving dog. Nikki fit in perfectly at home. She loves other dogs, my cats and my son and her really took to each other. She is so very gentle with kids that my son used to try and ride her and all she would do was lay there. Nikki is potty trained for many hours, only needing to go out in the morning and the evening. She also does not require a leash, which was such an added plus when she came to me. Nikki does go on leash out in public, but at home she runs around my 2 acres and returns on command. Nikki is trained to sit and lay down, but doesn't really stay!! She prefers following you to another room to see what you are doing!!

Nikki's one true fault is that she has seperation anxiety. She really needs to find a home where someone is home all day wth her. She used to do fine while I worked a 7 hour day close to home, but in the last couple of months I have transferred jobs and now work an 8 hour day with a 2 hour commute each way and although it breaks my heart, I cannot stand to see Nikki crated over 12 hours each day. Nikki would do really well with a stay at home family with kids, since she loves children. Nikki is also a great guard dog for a family. She barks any time anyone comes down my driveway and up to my door, but yet she doesn't have one mean bone in her body! She is all talk! But as a single mom, Nikki has been so reassuring to have here knowing if anyone tries to come down my drive, she will let me know!

Nikki is also a couch potato. She sleeps on the bed at night with me....in fact hogs the bed!! But if you tell her to "move", she will fact get off the bed and wait until you are comfortable to get back up and lay at your feet. She does enjoy vegging on the couch of an evening and doesn't require a lot of care at all.

Please know this breaks my heart to let her go, but I also am happier knowing she will find a good home with someone who can spend time with her instead of being locked in a kennel all day long. "
