You gotta love this dog! Handsome Bubba has an amazing attitude and lives by the motto: - If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again. - This happy boy has quiet a journey behind him, he was born at a backyard breeder, dumped at high kill shelter as a pup and adopted by a family, who brought him to our rescue as a teenager and then wanted to euthanize him because he wasn't getting adopted quick enough and because he has a - birth defect - . We said, no way, he is getting killed, we love him! His - defect - is a result of poor breeding: Bubba was born with Luxating Patellas in his knees. In short, it means, that the kneecap doesn't stay in place and moves back and forth. Bubba has had multiple surgeries, to correct this. The doctors are fairly satisfied with the results, they predict for Bubba to have a normal life with going on regular walks but without being capable of going on long runs or hikes. He does love to go for his walks and jumps around like a spring chicken! Bubba is a always in a good mood, even though, he is nervous around strangers at first. Bubba has received professional obedience training to help him overcome his fear of strangers, he is well behaved in the house, loves to go for car rides and is happiest, when he is near you. His adopters will receive multiple free training sessions. We are looking to place Bubba into a calm, adult home with yard access, where he can continue to blossom. Bubba is the silliest guy and can't resist a good belly rub. He won best kisser in our contest and he is definitely a ladies charmer! Will you be that special person/family for this special boy! PLEASE NOTE, THAT WE PREFER TO ADOPT TO LOS ANGELES / ORANGE COUNTY AREA RESIDENTS.

About Streetsmarts Rescue

About Our Shelter...

Streetsmarts Rescue is a "one-woman" operated, private rescue. Ingrid of Streetsmarts Rescue tries to help cats and all dog breeds but specializes in Pit Bulls/American Staffordshire Terriers.
Streetsmarts Rescue Animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped prior to adoption. Our dogs receive rehabilitation, basic and sometimes intensive training and socialization before placed into loving and responsible homes.
Streetsmarts Rescue also does outreach to people in the neighborhood and helps with cat trapping, transporting animals to the vet, supplying food and toys and sometimes FREE basic obedience training.
Streetsmarts Rescue can only take in very few animals at a time and always needs YOUR support.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All animals for adoption can be met after filling out an adoption application. Please call or e-mail Streetsmarts Rescue to receive an adoption application.
We show our animals by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

The Streetsmarts Rescue adoption is $300. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip and often expensive treatment and/or training.
Every application has to fill out an application prio to meeting the animal. The application has to be approved by Streetsmarts Rescue.
Streetsmarts Rescue will check references and conduct a home-visit prior to adoption.
An adoption contract has to be signed and if the animal can no longer be kept, after adoption, the animal HAS to be returned to Streetsmarts Rescue.
