Chelsea's Story...
Meet Chelsea, she came to us from a hoarding situation back in March. Timid and scared from not having any socialization, she lived her life in an X pen after they were done with her. We feel she is now ready for her furever home who will be patient with her and allow her to be the fun little girl she is at just 10 pounds.

If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST pay for all transportation fees. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, MHCR only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. ADOPTION FEE: $150.00 (includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, medicines and medical procedures, if necessary) Please LIKE and share our Facebook page www.facebook.com/missyshavencr Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chelsea, a San Antonio Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
