Taz's Info...

Taz's Story...
Taz is a super sweet boy who is fabulous with all dogs and all people. He's a hound mix with a laid back personality. He is housebroken and likes to play but is not a big toy tosser. He has a leg disability which is permanent but other than walking a little funny this does not bother him or stop him from any activity. He's 5 yrs. old, has a cool coat of colors and weighs 43 pounds. This lovable guy sure needs a forever home and we hope you will come and meet him to see for yourself.

To see Taz by APPOINTMENT ONLY, submit an online dog adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. After reviewing the application, staff will contact you—typically within two business days—for a phone interview.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Taz, a Fairfax Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
