Chelsey is a terrific and loving dog who just wants somebody to love. She is approximately 10 months old, crate trained, housebroken, and leash trained. She is heartworm negative, spayed, vaccinated, and ready to join your family! Chelsey is a prime example of 'Black Dog Syndrome' - the statistics stating that black dogs are the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized in shelters due to their color (their coat doesn't stand out among other dogs and therefore black dogs get chosen less often because of it.) Chelsey has been with our rescue since May 2016 and she is ready to be out of foster care and with a family of her very own.

Chelsey and her brother, Chesty, were seen being thrown out of a pick up truck's window. Luckily neither were harmed and are on their way to a much better life than the one they left behind. Chelsey has a very sweet disposition and does well with cats, kids, and other dogs. She is an active, young girl and loves to play. She is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via PETS transport services upon adoption. Her adoption fee is $400 and includes spay, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, and transport costs.

Second Chances is a rescue organization based out of Pontotoc, Mississippi which adopts dogs and puppies all over the Northeastern United States. All of our dogs and puppies are kept in private foster homes in Mississippi until adopted. Our dogs are NEVER in a facility.

About Second Chances Animal Rescue - ME Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters. You can learn more about us and some of what we do on our Facebook page - Second Chances Animal Rescue: Pontotoc, MS.

Our Adoption Process...

Please email us for an application. After your application is received you will have a chance to email with the foster and make sure the dog is the perfect match for you. If you choose to proceed with the adoption you will complete an adoption contract and we will set up a transport date. Our adoption fee is $400 which covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies shot, and all transport costs.
