Marissa's Story...
Meet Marissa! We awarded Marissa our "Calm Companion" summer camp badge because this is one chill little lady who doesn't ask for much- just to be near you! Marissa is a quiet and mellow dog that is happiest in your lap or right next to you. She walks well on the leash and wouldn't mind taking a little walk before cuddling up next to you for a nap. Marissa is a quiet dog and does well with her kennel mates. Bring your dog from home in and we can help you make sure everyone gets along prior to adopting. Marissa weighs about 9 pounds and we think she would make a great "apartment dog" because of her calm, quiet demeanor.

If 5 yr old Marissa sounds like just what you're looking for in a new family member, come visit her in D building at our West Valley Animal Care Center at 2500 S. 27th Ave., Phx. Hours are from 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun. Marissa's $20 adoption fee includes spay, rabies certificate and County license.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marissa, a Phoenix Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
