AVA is a gorgeous, fluffy, long - haired young white female kitty with a black cap and tail, about 3 years old. Are you looking for a cat that will warm your lap? This sweet girl is the epitome of a "lap cat", and will happily spend hours kneading on your stomach and purring loudly (with a bit of drooling thrown in). Ava is affectionate and loving, seeks out human attention, and is very playful. She absolutely loves fresh catnip, toys and her cardboard scratcher. Ava also loves her canned food and looks forward to it two times a day. It didn't take Ava long at all to become comfortable in her foster home. She warmed up to her foster parents quickly and seeks their company. Ava was abandoned by her family when they moved away, and some kind neighbors decided to feed her. Ava was initially fearful and traumatized from living on the streets, but in her loving WCDC foster home, she has blossomed into a friendly, outgoing kitty. Ava would probably do OK with another mellow, non-aggressive cat. She can nip when she becomes overstimulated, so she will need an owner who is cat-savvy. Please note that Ava is a long-haired cat with white fur, and should be brushed or combed regularly however her foster's report she hardly sheds and that her hair is fine and doesn't tangle. Her adoption fee is $75: she has been spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV/FELV (she is negative), microchipped, deflead and dewormed and comes with a free vet visit. Ava is currently in foster care and can be easily visited there. For more information this wonderful lap cat, please call Beth at (541) 255-9296.

About West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for companion animals of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd. WCDC works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. WCDC is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help WCDC save as many animal lives as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 11-4pm Sat.-Sun.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.
