Putt Putt's Story...
Introducing Putt Putt.

Mr. Putt Putt was found outside a local mini-golf establishment by a very well-intended woman. She kept him for about a month, until he became sick. At that time, she took him to the high kill Memphis Animal Services (aka the pound) and said she needed help as he was sick. We just happened to be there when this woman was telling the shelter supervisor that he had been throwing up for days. Luckily for Putt Putt, intake was closed that Sunday, and the supervisor told her to come back on Tuesday when they were open to intake. We knew Putt Putt would be dead by then. So we followed a very tearful owner out to the parking lot and told her we would help. Putt Putt's owner hugged us and cried, thanked us for being his angel as she couldn't afford to take him to the vet.

Once we got Putt Putt home, we realized how very sick he was and took him to the emergency vet that evening. He was diagnosed with parvovirus and remained at the vet for a week where he received excellent care, love and a second chance at life. We are so happy to have him in our rescue.

Putt Putt's ideal home (if you asked him) would have plenty of laps to sit in, he would like to accompany you to wherever you go. You going to take a shower? Putt Putt is happy to come along and sit while you do your thing. You fixing dinner? Sure, he'll sit in the kitchen with you. And don't even get him started on a sick day or TV marathon....yes and yes, he'd love both. And if your 10 year old daughter just happens to have a dog stroller, just for example, he wouldn't even mind if you push him around in that while the other dogs look on with great disgust. He lives with other dogs and a cat, is good with kids and really an all around great dog for someone who wants a side kick.

Putt Putt's adoption fee is $500 and includes his neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, heart worm preventative, health certificate, transportation from Memphis to your area upon adoption, and at no extra charge, he comes with a rock solid immune system after his parvo survival..

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Putt Putt, a Brattleboro Chihuahua/Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Chihuahua/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
