Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet the sweetest and still somewhat shy little girl Shelbie! She is an adorable 10lb and 5 year old Maltese mix. Rescued out of high-kill north Georgia, Shelbie was a “baby-maker” and the dumped after her last litter. She will need someone special to bring her out of her “shell: as she was kept to herself a lot. She does love to play with other dogs and is loving towards people, just timid. . She is almost too good in her crate, as that is what she is used to and was crated too much in her former life. She is very quiet in her kennel, you will never even know she is there! LOL! She is working on walking on a leash and her basic commands. She sits and shakes! Shelbie is pee pad trained and we are completing her house training as she was not given the freedom to go outdoors prior to her rescue. We were told she was in a home with kids and did well. Younger, noisier kids might be too much for her, but she adores folks who are kind and affectionate towards her. She is fine with the foster’s cats and really very easy. She has so much to explore and experience as soon as her confidence is built up. She loves other small dogs and has a very playful streak! Her hair was matted when we got her so had to give her a “summer shave” in order to get rid of the mats and start new. She will look so much cuter when her hair grows out and she has a proper haircut. We are hoping to send sweet and shy Miss Shelbie on transport July 6th with arrival Sat, July 9th. Her adoption fee is $500 and her awesome foster mom Tracy will continue to get her out and about and help her walk on the leash and gain her confidence. Shelby is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She has already come along way and Tracy has seen nice changes in her personality every day! To apply for Shelbie, please go to www.raincityrescue.com and choose the adopt tab. Any questions, please email Pam at raincityrescue.com. This little and lovely was not abused, just neglected. She needs you, a loving, calm and patient household that will invest a bit of time and get so much love and loyalty and companionship back in return!
