Hi, there! My name is Captain. What’s yours? Nice to meet ya! WATCH MY VIDEO!

Hey! Before you get too attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Houston, TX but I want to get OUT of Houston and OUT of Texas so I can have a really good life. I want to see Texas in my rear view mirror. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK?

I am a nice boxer/Pittie mix and I am about 2.5 years old. I weigh 55 pounds and I am 100% LOVE. I LOVE to give kisses! Yes, I do! I am a people-pleaser. I know where my bread is buttered! I like to show you my very nice manners like SIT and STAY when I first meet you. I am also up-to-date on all my vaccines and have been neutered.

Can you stand hearing more good stuff about me? OK, here goes! I love to carry my special ball everywhere I go! See my video. My foster mom will even mail the ball to your house – UH, make that OUR house once I get there. OK? I will make an excellent companion. Here’s why. I love to go for walks AND I walk well on a leash and I like to follow my peeps r-i-g-h-t by their side.

Guess what else? I adore children and I do very well with them because I like them a lot. The children I recently met were about seven and nine and I lit up like a Christmas tree when I saw them! Then, when they had to leave, I watched through the window as they were leaving and I stayed at the window until I couldn’t see them anymore. I miss them!

I am an amazing dog if I must say so myself but my foster mom says that, too. I just want to be loved….and give love and BIG sloppy kisses! OK?
My foster loves me SO much that she only wants me to fly to my new home even if a pet transport truck was available. I went shopping today and I already have my travel crate to be able to fly to you. I’m learning how to love my crate.

See my adoption information below.

If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email and she can get me on my way to a new and loving home! My adoption fee is $650 USD and includes my vetting, neutering, microchip, health certificate, travel crate AND transportation on United Airlines from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S., and Canada and will be arranged by the rescue group. (This is a courtesy posting.)

About A Better Life - Portland

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston, TX, vet them, recuperate them from health problems, bring them to full health and then work very hard to get them adopted out-of-state. Houston, TX has over ONE MILLION stray dogs. Thousands of perfectly healthy dogs, along with sick and dying dogs that are picked up, are euthanized every single day. Houston, TX is saturated with dogs. Everyone who WANTS a dog HAS a dog. We can only save lives by getting dogs out of our region. We have found the very best adopters in the Northeast and Northwest U. S. and Canada.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $650 to fly your dog to the nearest airport that (1) has a direct flight from Houston, TX and (2) can accommodate the size travel crate your dog would fly in. If there is no direct flight, then we do have to schedule flights with layovers. We only use United Airlines because of their PetSafe Program. They are the only airline equipped to fly dogs in year-round weather conditions. The dogs get the same air and heat as in the passenger cabin.
