My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RESCUED! WENT TO A CARING RESCUE GROUP!
Our little buddy Cosmo (formerly Gilligan), has been living in foster care with one of our volunteers for the past couple of months. He is currently searching for his forever family and is available for adoption through the wonderful organization RescuedOhio.

Here's what his foster family has to say about him: While fostering Cosmo the past 2+ months, we have discovered Cosmo is a bright, energetic, curious, and loving dog.
He is a good walker and takes three walks daily (1 mile each trip) in his neighborhood where he watches for squirrels, deer, and an occasional duck.
Cosmo enjoys being outside while we work in the yard. He enjoys playing fetch and chewing on his chew toys. Cosmo is able to jump 4 feet in the air and travels up or down a flight of stairs in record time. He makes himself comfortable on soft dog beds as well as the corner of a couch or seat of a chair.
The kitchen is his favorite room. If someone is there, he will join them. He is able to stand up to peer at the counter, so food is placed at the back. Cosmo consumes 1 1/2-2 cups of dry dog food throughout the day, as well as some homemade dog biscuits (recipe to be included).
Cosmo loves to sleep in a crate where he will arrange his blankets "just so" each night. He will also rest there on his own at times during the day. If we are gone for 2-3 hours during the day, Cosmo is not put in the crate and he always greets us at the door upon our return. If we are gone longer, Cosmo happily enters and spends the time in his crate.
While not a classic lap dog, Cosmo enjoys being near us, being petted, and having his chest rubbed or scratched.
Cosmo is protective of us and his property, and will bark if someone approaches until he becomes familiar with visitors. He has inverted sneezing on occasion, which the vet feels, may be due in part to seasonal allergies.
Cosmo may be best suited in a home with school age children, and owners who will play with and walk him. We are not sure how he would interact with other dogs in a home, but he is smart and is able to learn quickly.
