Denali is the name of the tallest mountain in North America. Denalie is the name of one of the sweetest, tiniest cats that has ever resided at Heartland. Born in 2013, we believe this tiny black girl has had a tough life. Heartland rescued Denalie and her four kittens from Chicago Animal Care and Control. Denalie and her babies were in a foster home for six weeks and she received rave reviews for her parenting skills. Denalie loved spending time with her foster family and would follow them around the house and hang out with them when they played with the kittens. One of Denalie's eyes is deformed, but we think that makes her even more special. Can you give Denalie the loving home she deserves?

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
