Facts about Brownie

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever/Husky Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With Tan
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Brownie was rescued from a high - kill shelter. He is very shy and that would have made him not very adoptable or easy to place there. Once he warms up, when given the chance, Brownie is a sweet, lovable guy. He has issues on the leash and is fearful. We think he was probably never walked on one. He is getting better but we know he will still need continued work in his new home to make him the best we know he can be. Brownie would do best in a laid back home, perhaps with one other dog or as an only pet. He appears to be mostly housebroken in the visit we had him on in a worker's relative ' s home. Brownie will make a loyal guy for someone...if someone will just give him that chance. Could it be you?

About Hillside SPCA

About Our Shelter...

We are a non-profit, no kill spca. We will adopt out as many animals as we can, but if they never get homes, that's fine, either us workers will take them home, or they will be life time residents. They love it at the shelter. We do not house our dogs in kennels, they have big yards to run in all day, and only sleep in kennels at night. We are one unique shelter.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Any day between 11 am and 3 pm. We're always open!

Our Adoption Process...

The Puppy/Dog adoption fee is $150. Kitten/Cat adoption fee is $55 (includes PA state sales tax).

Requirements: All other animals in the home must already be spayed or neutered, unless the animal is too young. The animals must live inside only. No tying out your dogs. If you rent you must come with a signed paper from your landlord, allowing pets. If you are out of county please contact Tricia, at shelter_dogs1@hotmail.com, for further directions.
