Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)

Extremely affectionate lap cat, Spoof is now four years old. She has always lived with other cats and is fine with most and would be great with an older kitty. Spoof resembles the oriental breeds, she is long legged, thin and graceful. She loves to run and climb on cat shelves and trees. She will stay in her person's lap for hours if permitted. Spoof is also fine with nice dogs and she lived with one. She also lived with a five year old child. She is one of the most gentle cats we have fostered.

If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Sundays usually and some Saturdays.  Follow us on FB for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: For Dogs: For Rabbits: Please visit our website

About Zani's Furry Friends Upstate Outpost

About Our Rescue Group...

Zani's Furry Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to rescuing companion animals from New York City shelters where, unfortunately, they are at significant risk for euthanasia due to overcrowding. Beyond directly helping the animals we save, their rescue creates space at the shelter—thus giving another shelter cat or dog an opportunity to await a chance for adoption or rescue and thereby potentially saving yet another life. Our mission is to help you find the perfect furry companion for your family and to help every animal we rescue find the forever home they deserve.
Entirely funded by donations, we depend on our volunteers to continue our work. We do not have a shelter or boarding facility, but instead rely upon foster homes to shelter and nurture our furry friends until a loving forever home is found.
Although not always sure of the pedigree or background of each cat or dog, those we place are generally well-socialized family pets who came to the city shelter through no fault of their own. We rescue kittens and puppies, nursing moms and litters, adults, seniors and special needs cats and dogs who deserve another chance for a loving home.

Our foster home network allows us to become fully familiar with each of our available cats and available dogs and helps us ensure the best possible match with adoptive families
We are always happy to answer any questions you may have about adopting a new pet and will gladly provide any support you may need throughout the adoption process and after you bring your new furry companion home. An experienced team of volunteers, fosters and trainers are always open to providing assistance. Please submit either a cat adoption application or a dog adoption application if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets.

We are a member of the Mayor's Alliance and a New Hope Partner with the Animal Care & Control of New York City.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Most of our adoption events are held in NYC and in NJ, however we are always looking for new venues!

Our Adoption Process...

We do require an application from which we conduct reference checks and home visits, followed by an interview, and finalized with a contract and donation to help defray our costs.
