Facts about Lancome

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Lancome is one of nine puppies from our "Beauty Bunch" litter. Her momma, Bonnie Bell, was on the run for weeks before finally being caught just before she gave birth in the shelter on 8 April 2016. Since the shelter is no place for newborns, we were able to bring her and her family into MVPC. While their momma is a pit bull, we have no idea what dad is, and there is definitely something else mixed in there, whether lab, mastiff, etc...who knows. These puppies will do great in any home, including one with kids, cats and other dogs. Lancome is doing great on her potty training manners and is a very quick study! She loves to play with the other dogs and is an all around good girl.

We send our weaned puppies out to their foster homes in pairs at 8 weeks old to continue proper dog etiquette and social skills on top of their foster families' guidance, structure and love. They are learning all about crate training, potty training, leash skills and basic manners, including sit. It will be on the new family to continue what we have started, as they are babies and still learning and will need time to adjust to their new family's schedule.

Lancome is ready for preapproval! They will all be spayed and neutered by mid-July and will be ready to go home soon afterwards. Once approved, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $250 at the time of the home visit. <p> All MVPC dogs are heart worm tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate trained and on a great potty training schedule.

ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, DO NOT USE THE PETFINDER/ADOPTAPET CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those--only submitted applications through our website will receive a response once approved. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25 and do not consider an electric fence a form of confinement. Because we are volunteer based and a home visit is required, we have a two hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Thank you for your understanding!

About Miami Valley Pit Crew

About Our Rescue Group...

The Miami Valley Pit Crew (MVPC) is a network of volunteer foster homes dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected and misunderstood dogs and puppies. Though we rescue all breeds, we specialize in Bully and working breeds: Bull Dog breeds, Pit Bull breeds, Mastiff breeds, Shepherd breeds and any mixes of the aforementioned. We take on the hard medical cases to give nice dogs a real chance at a forever home.

We pull dogs from Ohio kill shelters and we also educate owners and the public on bully breeds and Breed Specific Legislation (BSL).

The MVPC evaluates each rescue request to determine the dogs re-homing probability. We want to ensure each dog we take in can be rehabilitated into a family member. We work hard locally to educate bully breed owners and speak out against Breed Specific Legislation.

It all starts with an application FIRST. Once received, we will contact you and answer any questions you may have. It is found under the "Applications" tab on our website.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees are $200 for adult dogs, and $250 for puppies 8mo and under. Adoption fees may be more or less depending on breed, special needs, etc. This covers all vetting and allows us to take on hard cases.

It all starts with an application.

Our dogs are listed until the adoption paperwork is signed. Please submit an application for approval FIRST. We do not adopt out littermates together. We are a 100% foster-based, volunteer rescue so we are not able to respond to every inquiry about a dog (though we try) and we will respond to a request for an application or if one is submitted through our website. Please allow 72 hours for us to respond, and please check your spam/junk mail folder first, then send us an email if you believe we have not responded! Since we are foster-based, we have no centralized facility to visit. All of our dogs live in private homes as members of their respective foster families.

We require a physical fence for most dogs.

Once approved, we bring the dog to your home for a home visit. If all goes well at the home visit, the adoption is completed at that time.
