Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Bowie and I'm a very happy, playful guy when I'm with other dogs. I am very shy and nervous around new people, and am much more comfortable when another dog is with me. I came from CA where I was running around as a stray. I'm neutered, UTD on all vaccines, and crate trained. I'm probably about 1 1/2 yrs., approx. 50 lbs. and really want a home of my own!
My foster parents say I am a happy go lucky guy when I am with my dog friends. I love other dogs my size that can match my play level. I am looking for another playmate who can show me the ways of the world and would like a leader dog to show me how things work. I can tire out any high energy dog and am an outdoorsman at heart - I love finding all the smells outside.
Since I am so shy around new people and new experiences, my dog step sister and brother help give me a lot more confidence. A nice, quiet home with people who are patient and can work with me would be perfect! One of my favorite things to do is settle in and chew on my bones. and nap in my crate. But the best of the best is to snuggle up next to you!
Bowie is a very nice little guy and immediately transitioned into a group of dogs. He never had any sort of guidance and developed some pretty deep fears of just about everything. He seems to thrive and feel safe when he is with another dog, and comes out of his shell. He is best with playmates his own size or bigger. Clearly, he LOVES the water!
He is working thru his fears of new people and things, and as he feels starts to feel safe and trusting, he is incredibly sweet. He continues to make great strides every day, and he's a happy, ready-to-please boy. Although we believe Bowie would really like kids, and eventually would do quite well with them, he needs to develop more confidence and know that he is safe and secure in his environment. So, until then, we don't recommend young children at this time.
