Dempsey's Story...
Hi! My name is Dempsey and I am a fun and energetic little guy! I am 4-5 years old, but don't let my age full you I am still as active as those younger pups, but even better because I'm not all puppy and will be happy to sit on the couch and curl up next to you. I am neutered, housebroken, up-to-date on all my vaccines, and heartworm negative. I will also be microchipped in the next week, so then I will be completely ready for my furever home. I love to play with toys and love getting attention from my people. I pretty much just LOVE to play! I came to Friends of Penny from a shelter in Fredricksburg, VA, so nothing is known about my history prior to coming into rescue. I must have been part of a home and family at one point because I am very familiar with home life and have some basic doggie manners indoors. I was found wandering the streets and some nice people worked to spring me from the shelter and my foster mom drove all the way up to Fredricksburg to get me.

I was really scared and DID NOT like being in that shelter; I was so HAPPY to see my foster mom when she came to pick me up. I just knew when I saw her that everything was going to be okay; I went right to her because I wanted her to get me out of that shelter as quick as she could. I really am the sweetest little guy and just have nothing but love for everyone around me. There are two other dogs in my home with whom I get along with just fine, I do enjoy playing with them, but I really think I would be happiest as an only dog or maybe with just one other dog. I also get along with the kitty that lives in my foster home, sometimes I try to chase her or play with her, but for the most part I really just like looking at her. I'm intrigued by her and am trying to figure out exactly what she is, she acts a lot different from us dogs you know. There are not any children in my foster home, but I'm such a sweet guy that I think I would enjoy having older children to run around and play with me. I think younger children would be fine too as long as they were gentle with me.

I'm a little guy, but I'm very sturdy. If you think you have room in your heart and home for me, be sure to mention my name, Dempsey when you are filling our your application. Feel free to contact my foster mom at with any questions you may have about me. I promise she will be more than happy to tell you all about what a wonderful little guy I am! Thanks for reading my story!

XOXO Dempsey

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dempsey, a Greensboro Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Pinscher for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
