Egyptian Mau
Say “meow” to this beautiful Egyptian Mau!  The Mau is one of the only naturally spotted domestic cat breeds, and six-year-old Sparky is hoping to be spotted in your home (perhaps on top of your kitchen cabinets) very soon.
The ancient Egyptians celebrated lunar festivals, and Sparky still carries a little bit of the moon in his luminous grey-green eyes and soft, silvery coat.  He also has a striking “M” marking on his forehead, which stands for “More, please!” when it comes to cuddles and dinner, and “Me time, please!” when he’s ready to rest and recharge in a quiet, sunlit spot.  Sparky might be a little shy when he first meets you, but he has plenty of personality and lots of love to give.  He’s a thoughtful, intelligent cat, who likes nothing better than climbing up his tall cat tree and rewarding himself with a nap at the summit.  He tells us it reminds him of scaling the pyramids back home.
Sparky is playful and has a good sense of humor, but he wouldn’t describe himself as a party animal: this Egyptian prefers belly rubs to belly dancing.  A peaceful household, perhaps with just one other calm feline companion, would suit him best.  He finds the hustle and bustle of adoption centers a bit too exciting, so he’d love for you to visit him in his foster home instead. He promises to share his toys and show you how gracefully he can “Walk Like an Egyptian” through his cat door.
Sparky is fond of reminding us that his ancestors were worshiped as deities.  This sweet, unassuming boy isn’t asking for an entire cult in his honor, but he wouldn’t say no to a loving home and a human to call his very own.
If you’d like to meet Sparky, please fill out an application for review, and his foster mom, Barbara Nelson, will be in touch to arrange a home visit.

About Our Rescue Group...

SNAP is dedicated to curbing the dog and cat overpopulation problem in Georgia through making spay/neutering services as widely available as possible.

Through the implementation of the county and local TNR programs and by helping to provide wellness services, rescue and adoption programs and education and outreach, we hope to reach our goal of saving lives and money.

We are a Georgia-based 501c3 non-profit organization sustained entirely from grants, donations and the generous and tireless work and support of our many volunteers.

We are also located inside the Castlegate PetSmart in the 24/7 adoption center located at 1801 Howell Mill Road, NW, Atlanta 30381. You can visit the kitties any time the store is open, and an adoption volunteer will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-3pm to answer your questions and facilitate the adoption process.

We also have cast/kittens available for adoption at the Duluth PETCO located at 2131 Pleasanthill Road Duluth GA 30096
