Sheldon's Story...
Hello my name is Sheldon! I'm a 6 month old puppy that was brought to the shelter by animal control. I was initially found as a stray pup, but no one came to claim me so now I am up for adoption! I'm a typical puppy that will get LARGE and am full of energy. I am not housebroken because I am young and haven't been trained so my future owners should plan on spending lots of time with me. I am too young to be left for 8 hours a day (that's for an adult dog) so plan on investing a lot of time with me. Fill out an application for adoption at www.al-van.org. Inquiries are not applications!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sheldon, a South Haven Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in South Haven, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
