Spartacus's Story...

Home needed for Spartacus - our 6 year old Cane Corso! Spartacus was surrendered by his owner to be put to sleep for chronic diarrhea and seizures. Spartacus was purchased as a puppy from a breeder, and spent his whole life in one home. Spartacus has pages and pages of medical history, they did blood work, they did fecal tests, and there was never any resolution with the diarrhea. He also came to us very thin. After our medical dept. reviewed all of his medical history, they decided to try something that it seems no one else had tried -- we changed his food!! And guess what, Spartacus' diarrhea has majorly improved! We are really happy that Spartacus is mostly pooping normally, and we hope this continues. Spartacus is on seizure medication and has one seizure since he's been at the shelter. Spartacus is a sweet boy, but does not like other dogs, and gets a little reactive when he sees them. He is social with strangers and is being recommended for a home with kids 13 and up. Spartacus is very loving with his human friends and bonds quickly. He is very playful with toys, loves to run and is a pleasure to walk. He gives paw and he's a true gentle giant.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spartacus, a Huntington Cane Corso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cane Corso for sale in Huntington, or seeking a Cane Corso dog from a breeder in Huntington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cane Corso breeders who help with Cane Corso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntington paves the way for another one to be saved.
