My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milo is a handsome chocolate brown purebred cocker spaniel who has come back from some tough times and is ready to be a devoted to a new family.
He has a sweet, mellow personality and wants nothing more than to be someone's faithful companion. He is 7 years old and weighs 31 pounds.

Milo was neglected in his former home and developed a painful ear infection that went untreated for so long that it destroyed the ear's inner workings. In May Milo came into rescue and underwent surgery to remove his ear canal. (Outwardly his appearance is still 100% normal.) Happily, he is now free of pain and though mostly deaf in his left ear, still hears everything that goes on with his right ear!

Milo loves being with his foster mom and follows her around wherever she goes. He also loves playing with dog toys, going for walks, riding in the car, chasing a ball, napping, and getting belly rubs. He gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home, but we don't know how he is with cats. We don't know his history with children so we recommend a home with kids 10+. He does have a 13 yr old boy in his foster home and he is good with him. In his ideal forever home he will get to spend lots of time with his humans, as he wants to make up for the years of his life he spent mostly alone. Milo is house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash.

Milo's new family should be familiar with cocker spaniels and their need for vigilant ear care. He is neutered, up to date on shots, mcirochipped, and current on heartworm preventative. His foster mom says, "Milo is one of the most companionable dogs I've ever met. He is so devoted and will be an instant best friend to his new owner."
