Gracie is a very petite little girl, only about 10 lbs. We’re assuming she is an Italian Greyhound mix but she came in as a stray so this is our best guess. If you’re looking for a sweet little lap dog to cuddle up with under a blanket then Gracie may just be your perfect companion! She is house trained and does well in a kennel. Gracie gets along with other dogs but does show a little resource guarding and prefers her humans over socializing with other dogs. We’re unsure how she is with cats but we don’t foresee any issues with children over the age of 10. Gracie does seem a bit scared of men so she will do best in a home where a female will be her main caretaker. We are requiring that she gets adopted to a home with a fenced in yard. When Gracie came to us her teeth were in such bad condition that they have since all had to be pulled but she feels much better and can still eat just fine! Gracie is looking for the perfect Forever Home where she can go for walks, play with her toys, cuddle and get tons and tons of love! All adoptions are $200 per dog which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots.

Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $100 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

About Forever Home Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Forever Home Dog Rescue is dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals primarily from high-kill shelters.

In working with committed volunteers, temporary care homes and local veterinarians, we are able to rescue dogs, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. All our rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and have all necessary veterinary care.

We were formed in January 2014 and are a non-profit organization in central Iowa. We are pending our official 501c3 status. We receive no government funding and rely completely on donations.
