COURTESY POST: Miss Amelia is still looking for a forever home. She is a 5-ish year old GSD/Hound mix that was dumped in a NC kill shelter in Nov 2015 and lived there until PAWS Rescue brought her to MD in March 2016. She has been in foster with them for the past 3 months, and still keeps getting overlooked. She is healthy, spayed, 100% vaccinated and UTD on shots. She has learned basic commands and is crate trained. She needs a fenced in home to run in with no young children,as they scare her. Loud noises and quick movements startle her. She's a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is extremely affectionate, loving, and loyal. She loves belly rubs, walks, and to lay outside. If interested, her fee is $250, and you can email PAWS Rescue at pawsrescuemd@gmail.com for an application.

About Adopt a Homeless Animal

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. Thus, our dogs are in foster homes, so if you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

Our Adoption Process...

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. Also, there is a $175 adoptiong fee/ donation to help offset some of the expenses relating to vaccinations, spay / neuter, feeding, boarding and miscellanious veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!
