Yes, I’m handsome, and I’m smart too! My foster mom says I’m a genius. That’s probably because I know so many useful commands such as sit, down, stay, come, shake, belly-rub. How do I know all this? I’m a fast learner, especially when treats are involved, and I look forward to learning even more things when my permanent person comes to adopt me. I am a bit shy with strangers so I'd prefer a stable, quiet home with not too many people coming and going, and no children under 12. Once I am familiar with you, however, I will always be so excited to see and hang out with you!
In the meantime, when I’m not busy sitting, staying, shaking, and getting belly rubs, I think deep thoughts and use my stunning good looks to pose for magazine covers. It’s true! I’m on the cover of DogSpeak this month. DogSpeak!! That’s a big deal!!
The people at DogSpeak also interviewed me because they want you to know more about me:
DS: Mickey, we are honored to have you here today. We don’t often get dogs of your intelligence and beauty all in one. Tell us a bit about yourself.
M: Well, first of all, thank you for having me. I’m not usually shy, but all these nice things you said about me are making me blush. I come from humble beginnings, and although I’m four and a half years old, I’m told I’m an old soul with wisdom beyond my years.
DS: Tell us about some of your favorite things.
M: Oh, that’s easy. I love hikes…. especially hikes by water. I love water. When I reside in the adoption center I go on Outward Hound hikes about 3 times a week for about 2 hours each time. It helps me stay in shape and provides a good cardio workout. I’m also very fond of string cheese, Animal Planet and walks on the beach.
DS: So, Mickey, what are you looking for in a home?
M: Thank you for asking that very important question. I am partial to adults, especially adults who have time to walk or hike with me. I like sleeping with my person(s) and am a very good foot warmer. Mostly I am looking for someone who will love me and keep me forever. An in-ground pool would be nice.
DS: Well, Mickey, this is a good start. You certainly deserve a home of your own and we, at DogSpeak will do our best to help you find it. In the meantime, our readers may have other questions to ask you. Is it ok with you if they write in with their questions?
M: Of course, I’d be happy to answer any questions about how well I’d fit into your life (forever). You can reach me through the staff at the adoption center.
All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
