Maximilian's Story...
Hola, me llamo Maximillian. For those folks who don't speak Spanish, that means “hi, my name is Max.” I'm a bilingual guy with a striking black and white coat. I'm six years old, and used to have a home, but as an outside dog. My people moved, and couldn't take me with them. I'm smart enough and eager to learn all about being an inside dog. I hear that the kitchen is the place where the food is at, and I love my food and treats! My first language is Spanish, but I know enough English to earn treats. I'm a quick study. I get along with other dogs, unless they're the bossy type. I prefer people as playmates, and will try to get you to chase me around the yard. I love to go for walks and get excited when I see the leash. If you pet me, be prepared. I expect my belly to be rubbed. Because of my size, energy, and herding dog background, I'd do best in a home without small children. When I'm happy, my ears flop back like a little puppy and my whole body wags. Wouldn't you like me to greet you that way every time you come home?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maximilian, a Aldie Border Collie/Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Akita for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Border Collie/Akita dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Akita breeders who help with Border Collie/Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
