Merlin's Story...
Merlin is one of those dogs who’s constantly on the verge of being adopted by pretty much every PAWS staffer and volunteer. Everyone, and we mean everyone, describes him as charismatic, happy, and whimsical. And he’s almost always smiling. That’s right—smiling. When Merlin sees people he loves, he can’t hide it. Nor would he want to, because that’s just the kind of dog he is. He’s also the kind of dog who loves walks and isn’t overly fond of cats. So he’ll do best in a moderately active, feline-free home where he won’t be left alone for too long at a time. He would also do well with an experienced dog owner who can continue the training he has begun at PAWS.

If you want to meet Merlin, you’d better hurry before one of us breaks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Merlin, a Chicago Papillon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Papillon dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon breeders who help with Papillon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
