My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PROMISE is a 1 1/2 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 42 pounds. She is very sweet, when I first met her she was a little scared. I sat down and let her come up to me and sniff away, she decided maybe I wasn't so bad especially after she found my stash of treats. Think she will be fine with anyone as long as they go a little slow when they meet her. She likes to play in the yard with other dogs. She would do well with a family as long as they take the time to introduce her to strangers.
Good with other dogs has been out with other Lab Rescue pups at the kennel. No cat history, met the kennel cat and did not show any interest. Knows sit, come. Pulls some on lead better with an Easy Walk Harness. Most likely house trained, waits until she goes outside to go. Promise comes from the country and has no exposure to big cities. Placements is limited to single family stand-alone homes in a suburban neighborhood, or rural area. Promise is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update: We picked up Promise from the kennel a few days ago and she is a LOVE! She knows come and sit, and she ate her dinner in the crate without a peep (she was hungry and loves food!). She is also great around my husband - he sat on the floor and she climbed right in his lap and rolled over for a belly rub. She and the resident lab are getting along great, although she is the calmer of the two (as usual). She is doing excellent in the crate. She goes in on her own to relax, and slept through the night without a peep. She loves to play with the resident lab and with us, and is incredibly affectionate. She is a fast runner, but after a few minutes she tires out. She is probably on the moderate energy side for a lab of her age. She is definitely a velcro lab! She loves seeing what we are doing and being close to us.

Update: Promise got sprung from the vets where she was treated for an upper respiratory infection, she is feeling 100% better and acting like a typical happy puppy. She has been out playing with Faith at the kennel and is having a ball. She is wondering why no one has come to carry her off to her new home. She has new pictures and a video you can see at. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1vG7QsiFwI.

Shelter says Promise is very sweet and likes to get attention. Good with other dogs, tried to play with the vets resiident cat who promptly swiped her and said I am a cat and do not play with dogs.
