"I AM A CUDDLER"!!! "COMET" is a delightful lil' guy! Loves everyone he meets! Gets along well with the other dogs. Healthy, quiet, and playful (loves his toys and the kiddie pools) would be an excellent house dog, traveling buddy, walking buddy, etc. for a family. He will bring lots of joy and smiles to someone who will give him a chance!

About Our Shelter...

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit private organization run by volunteers and the organization depends on the generosity of the public and private sectors for operating budget each year. We take in the unwanted, discarded, abandonded, unloved, mistreated, and neglected animals of the area. We do this solely for the betterment of the animals lives in the hope that we can place them in a loving home. Our mission (and our Passion) is to relieve the suffering of area companion animals and to educate the public on the importance of and necessity for altering all companion animals.

Our Adoption Process...

By application (go to www.poteaupets.org and click on the Adoption Form link near top of page) dogs range from $90 to $ 100, All adult dogs spayed or neutered, heartworm tested, and utd on shots before adoption. Puppies and kittens $ 25 - $ 50 and are utd on shots. If pet is adopted before it is old enough to be altered, then adopter will be asked to sign an agreement to have the procedure done by a specific date. Follow up is done. Because PVHS is 90% volunteer organization, whose volunteers work other 40-hr. week jobs, the adoption process may take 4-5 days to complete. Every effort is given to expedite the process as much as possible once an application and photos are received! Adopt from the best shelter in Southeastern Oklahoma - Poteau Valley Humane Society!
